Xiaomi Mi TV 4A is the company’s new offering which comes with a massive display, thin bezels, and a voice-assistant. Additionally, users will also be able to control various smart devices connected to the same network with the help of the assistant.
The design and display
The Mi TV 4A looks really attractive. it’s built out of plastic materials that make it a lightweight in comparison to other TVs. Xiaomi has managed to keep the bezels of the TV slim and the design minimalistic.
Although the Mi TV 4A isn’t as slim as its elder sibling Mi TV 4, it still compact enough to fit in a small area. Also, there aren’t any physical keys apart from the power on/off key. Users can perform all tasks using the remote. The company has placed the two 10W stereo speakers on the bottom of the TV, which are loud and clear enough to make your experience better.
The Mi TV 4A has Full HD LED display with 1920 x 1080 pixel resolution. The picture quality is really impressive and the color reproduction is excellent. The colors appear just perfect and don’t seem oversaturated, provided you use an HD set-top box or play HD videos. Non-HD content appears to be pixelated, so if you aren’t an HD user, you might want to skip this one.
Also, the blacks appear more greyish than the natural black. but, this can be fixed by reducing the backlit of the TV. Overall, the display is really good and considering the price of TV, these flaws are forgivable.
Hardware, Software and Performance
The Xiaomi Mi TV 4A 43’’ is powered by Amlogic T962, with the four-core ARM Cortex-A53 CPU at 1.5Ghz, and Mali-450 for the graphics. It also has 2GB of RAM, along with 8GB of eMMC storage space.
Xiaomi Mi TV 4A runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow, with Xiaomi’s MIUI TV skin to top things off.
Xiaomi, maintaining the minimalistic design accents also kept the remote very simple. It is a sleek and handy bar with very few buttons. It is made of plastic and fires up with the help of two AAA batteries.
The best part is that the remote connects to the TV using Bluetooth which means there’s no need of pointing the remote towards the TV to make it work. Not just that, the remote also acts as a universal host, so you don’t have to use the remote that came alongside your set-top box. But for this, you will have to buy an additional accessory called the Mi IR set-top box controller.
There are two HDMI ports, two USB 2.0 ports, an antenna port, Ethernet, and RCA connectors for composite input. The first HDMI port refers ARC support (Audio Return Channel), which is helpful when we want to connect any external audio systems.
