Have you heard about the moss micro landscape? If you are a garden lover, I believe you will love this kind of manual horticulture. Actually, I know this kind of horticulture recently and when I saw these interesting things displayed in a store, they are so delicate and creative. Moss landscape is a new kind of desktop potted. Combine the plants moss and fern (which have the similar habitat) with a variety of mini landscape doll in a glass container to make it become a special and new type of potted.
Maybe you are wondering why moss and fern will be the best plants of the micro landscape. In fact, moss is a kind of plant which likes to grow in shady and moist places and it can live in a bad environment such as hot, cold and dry surroundings. To do a micro landscape yourself is simple too. To begin with, you need to get ready of the stuff you need: a portable glass container, moss or simulation moss stone, small foliage plants as fern, water-resisting layer, cultivatable soil, delicate sand or stones and mini landscape decorations.
Firstly, choose the glass container you like, such as hanging glass vase, small fish tank or creative bottle. The second step is to build the base, there are 4 mainly layers you need to put into the bottom of the container, the first layer is pumice, second layer is the pumice granulum, third layer is water-resisting layer sphagnum moss which can prevent the water from permeate, better to spray the water moss in a moist situation, the fourth layer is the cultivatable soil.
Thirdly, you can start to design the landscape, as for me, I would like to start from the back of the container. Choose some plants which are good to be background and then plant then gently into to soil, then, add the moss to cover the base. After all, you can add some delicate stones and mini landscape decorations such as mini street lamp, animals and so on.
