Do you have any idea about terrarium? In fact I have noticed this kind of plants for a while and I found terrarium is interesting and popular in these days. A terrarium is a type of miniature ecosystem of plants, which is usually sealable glass container that can be opened for maintenance and to access the plants inside. And terrariums are super easy to make and incredibly low-maintenance. If you are interested in DIY terrarium, here is a type of terrarium you deserved to have a try.
Prepare the basics you need: Micro landscape bottle, succulents, moss or a few grass-like ground covers, coarse sand and cactus soil. To let the terrariums have a sandy soil can mimic the bottom of the ocean, and since succulents need some kind of organic rich soil, they most likely would not survive in pure sand. Hence, you need to create a sandy bottom with a little crater for some cactus soil to rest in. besides, cactus soil works much better than regular potting soil. Once you’ve laid out the sandy bottom and base of cactus soil, you are ready to begin planting.
Simply trim off a bit of the root or some of the leaves if your plants are a bit too large for your vessel, and then stick them right in the soil. If you have got your planting done, gently add in a bit more sand to cover up the cactus soil. It doesn’t have to be perfect; in fact I think it looks quite nice having a bit of the soil peeking through the sand.
Complete your seascape by adding a little mermaid or two, and some pretty rocks or shells will be great. Then a pretty little terrarium is finished. It can be your unique pet plants and also DIY home decor. To care for your succulents, simply add just a touch of water every other day for 2-3 weeks to get them started. After that, a light watering once a week should do the trick. Succulents are easy to care for.
