Regularly cleaning the house can keep it neat and sweet. However, during the cleaning process, many people would forget to clean the pillows, and most people launder their sheet once a week, setting aside the actual pillows for less frequent washings. Pillows are easy to get dirty and moreover, you cannot imagine how dirty they can be as we couldn’t see the bacteria by eyes.

Depending on the age of pillow or cushion pad, over 50% of its weight may be comprised of sloughed skin, mold, mildew, fungus, dust mites and dust mite feces. Washing and replacing your pillow or soft cushion pad regularly helps keep it fresh and prolongs their useful life. Most manufacturers recommend you clean your pillows and overlays every 6 months. Here are some guidelines you could refer to make your pillows neat and soft.

This will better resist the accumulation of microscopic dust mite, mold, mildew and other bacteria, as well as sweat, body oil and drool, which tends to permeate bed linens and settle into the pillows and pads beneath.

Change and wash your pillow cases often (at least once each week). Body oils and bacteria will build up in the pillow cases, and eventually make their way to the pillow itself, unless replaced frequently.
